3 Experiences of Anesthesia of Open Heart Surgery of the Patient of Jehovah´s Witness

Abstract

|
There are many reports of anesthesia for the patient of Jehovah´s witness who doesn´t accept blood transfusion. We have experienced 3 consecutive series of open heart surgery for the patient of Jehovah´s witness. During and post-operative period, we did not use any blood or its derivative product. Without any hemoconcentration devices, we have tried to elevated Hb. level only with diuretics. Post-op. anemia werent´s significant. I think selective cardiovascular operations can be performed safely without blood transfusion.
